Return to previous location in Word 2016
Hi Good People,
I know of the alt-left arrow and "Back" button solutions for a similar problem but ... they do not work for the following scenario: Scenario: 500 page Word document with hyperlinks to bookmarks on a separate page (say page 422). An individual is on page 47. Clicks on a hyperlink and this brings them to that hyperlinked page with web page url links. Before clicking on any of the url links, the Back button and alt-left arrow work fine bringing the individual back to the original location UNTIL.... They click on the url link and that removes the last cursor history. I have searched all over with no solution. Please help if you can! Thanks Steveslsd |

I have no idea what you mean by "that removes the last cursor history". That said, you can always return to the place of the last edit via Shift-F5.

Like Paul, I'm baffled by "last cursor history."
I have no problem using Alt+Left Arrow to go back along a trail of hyperlinks within a document. When a hyperlink takes me outside of a document, I have to return to the document, itself, manually. Once there, the Alt+Left Arrow works. If this is not your experience, try opening Word in safe mode and see whether your experience is different. |
