Section break extends off the page
Why does my section break extend far off the page? Thanks.

Anyone? Just chime right in, please. Is it normal behavior for a section break to appear this way?

I haven't seen a section break behave like that. Could you upload the actual Word document where you see this?

When I open the file here, in Word 2013, I see nothing apparently strange about it. The only way I can get the section break to extend across the whole Word window is if I switch to Draft view (called Normal view in older versions of Word). It is still possible that this is a problem specific to Word 2010, of course.

I work exclusively in print layout view. Yup, I'm in Windows 2010.

I opened it in Word 2010 and it does not look that unusual to me. The section break when inserted at the end of a line extends to the right edge of the page in the display (actually off the page).
00 deleteme 1.png It does not cause any problems except that sometimes I have trouble finding the things in print view. You can't see what kind of section break it is without inserting a line/paragraph break before it or switching into draft view. That said, a more important issue is that you should not be using a section break there at all. Your letterhead should be in the first-page header of your template.

Attached is an example of a properly set up rudimentary letterhead template without a section break. It is based on what you posted.
