Default Font Family

Hi guys,
I recently switched from a Mac to a PC. One thing I loved in Word on the mac was that when I was selecting the fonts, say Helvetica Neue, after selecting it it had a dropdown menu with the options for it like Helvetica Neue Light, etc.
Is there a way to get this to work on the PC version of Word?

No. The fonts dropdown in Word shows the font family members individually. Furthermore, while some fonts use different files for bold, etc. Word will treat those as attributes of the one font rather than showing them separately.

Default Accessing Font Family

Hi,
Recently I moved from Mac to PC and I installed a font family.
I opened word and I can see the font family, however I don't know how to access the fonts that are located inside it.
Can you help me?
I have attached 2 photos showing how it looks.

In Word, all you need do is select the attributes you want to apply (e.g. bold, italic). Word will manage the font file selection for you.

Ordinarily, Word's Font dropdown should show the variants; I don't know why that isn't happening in this case. How did you install the fonts?

Well, I just open the font file (.otf) and click on "Install" and after that restarted the computer.

Try selecting one or more of the variants and installing that.

Open the Fonts app in the Control Panel, click on a variant of the font concerned, then choose Install.

Well, the "Install" button is grayed out. So I think they are installed.

Try repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair). If that doesn't resolve things, I'm not sure what will - uninstalling/reinstalling the font, perhaps.
