Update fields of the same type automatically
Hi,
I have a field in each figure subtitle with it's number and this is showed in a figure index. When i insert a new figure in the middle of the document i need to update the field of each field after the new one, manually... Is there anyway to update automatically only the same type of fields (no the whole document). Thanks |

Ctrl-A, F9 will update all fields (a print preview will update most, too) but, if you only want to update particular fields, you'll have to do them individually. That process could be automated with a macro, though.

As I said, it could be automated with a macro. For example:
Code:
Sub Demo() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Dim Fld As Field For Each Fld In ActiveDocument.Fields If Fld.Type = wdFieldSequence Then Fld.Update Next Application.ScreenUpdating = True End Sub For Mac macro installation & usage instructions, see: http://wordmvp.com/Mac/InstallMacro.html
