Default How to fix pasted text

I have to forward documents from one old system to another old system and the copy forward text is pasting as seen in the attached photo. I'd like to get rid of the paragraph marks denoted by the red arrow and keep the paragraph marks denoted by the green arrows - i.e. keep normal paragraph breaks and hard returns but lose the unnecessary breaks within sentences - to save having to manually remove them to make the document look polished, particularly after edits. I've poked around and not found a macro or solution for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Replace ^p with space
