All words in document appear bold but are not!
I just opened up a document that I had been working on this morning, but now all the words appear as if they are "bolded,"even though most of the words are not. I use Times New Roman font. I opened up other documents and they too have the same problem. I opened a new document. I typed in one font and it appeared normal, but as soon as I typed in times new roman, once again it appears as if it is bold.
What happened and how can I get it back to normal? PLEASE HELP!!!! |

It seems that the Times New Roman font is damaged. If you have another computer, you may be able to copy the font files and then paste into the Fonts folder on the problem computer.

That is what I ended up doing, but only after trying so hard to re-download my Office Pro 2013, where I knew the font would be. Unfortunately when I bought it, my Microsoft Account was linked to another email address, which I no longer have. The only other way is if they sent a code by phone to my landline, which we no longer use!!! There was NO ONE to talk to, and I was going to have to give PAGES of information about me, that included a lot of "private" information that I should not have to give, just to gain access to my account!
Anyway, long story short, I was able to copy the Times New Roman font (normal) into my laptop and installed it and that fixed it. I had discovered that I had the Times New Roman Bold and Italic, but somehow my "normal" font had disappeared! So, all is well now! Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately I had already spent about a day trying to figure it out or gain access to my software, so I could download it again, when I had figured this out for myself. But thanks! |

I don't think that Times New Roman has ever been included with Office; the font is part of Windows, which is why copying from another computer works.
