Default Word 2013 Does Not Recognize Misspelled Words

Hello,

My Word 2013 does not recognize some misspelled words be it a New or existing documents. Please note, I use a lot of tables in my document.

These are the steps I have taken for all New Documents:
1. Open a New Word Document

2. Click File>Options
3. Settings checked in Proofing Section (See attachment-Image 01-File-Options-Proofing)
4. Then, I click OK to leave the Options window.
5. Click Review>Language button and ensure that Do not check spelling or grammar box is unchecked. (See attachment -Image 02-Language Window)

In spite of these steps, I will still get words that are misspelled in my document that someone else notices. I will click Review>Language Button and it turns out that the Do not check spelling or grammar box is checked for individual words or lines.

I also have existing documents and I have ensured that the global spelling and grammar proofing settings are correct.

Is there a quick fix for me make sure to all existing documents and New documents recognize misspelled words?

Thank You!

the word "settings" is highlighted in yellow on page 5. It is misspelled but not recognized by word because Review>Language and the
Do not check spelling or grammar is once again checked.

I cannot do a global correction on this to correct the problem. I have had to go line by word and probably word by word to see if that setting is checked.

I'm not sure what is going on here.

Thanks,

I found one instance of text on the last page.

That let me turn it off fine.

Then I did a "replace" as shown below.
00 deleteme 2.png

Then I closed and reopened the document and ran the same replace again with 22 instances replaced. Then, without closing, I ran it again and had one replace which would not go away. I determined that this was a page field in the header which is supposed to be so marked.

I closed and reopened. By the way, the text I had spotted on the third page never went back to being marked for "do not check."

I then looked at each instance using Find-Next. None of the instances were text, they were all either that field or control buttons.
