Default Protecting your logo in Word

Hi there!

I am trying to protect two areas of our company letterhead word document so that users cannot edit or delete them. The two areas are;

1. Our company logo (positioned top right of every page)
2. The footer - containing our company name and contact details

Protection of the footer area seems to work easily enough, but protecting the logo is more difficult! Currently I am only able to protect the entire header when in actual fact I only want to protect the logo in the top right hand corner. (I would like to be able to use the remaining space at the top of the page to type and insert text).

Can anyone help?!

I would use the developer tools to protect the whole document. Put in text form fields in the areas where you want users to be able to insert their own text. These fields can be invisible until clicked on and can be made to not show any boxes when printing.

Thanks Brazzell.

I assume that the whole document would need to be password protected?
Do you know of any way whereby I can just protect the logo and the footer without protecting the whole doc?
(We need to be able to write and edit text from the top of the page opposite the logo right down to the bottom, just above the footer...)

My first guess is that two text fields would solve that need. One at the top to the right of the logo. And one in the body area of the letterhead from underneath the logo to the footer.

And do you know how I would add these two text fields? My web research has offered answers for Word 2003 but not for 2007 which I am using!

(The logo is poisitoned top right of doc, on every page, footer all the way across the bottom, every page)

It's only something that I do infrequently, so I would have to play around with it to be sure what the best option is, but I would first try Developer (from the top menu) > Controls (from the ribbon menu) > Insert Frame (an icon from the legacy forms section).

This internet page gives more details about each of the options available.
