Default Problems with pasting into another document

I do a lot of "side-by-side" document viewing in Word 2007. In addition, I do a lot of copying and pasting between the two documents. My default font size is set to 12 pt. However, sometimes I am copying text in one doc that is 11 pt font. And when I paste it into the other doc, I want it to remain the same font size (11), but it pastes it as my default font size (12). How do I paste it and get it to keep its original formatting, i.e., the same font size? Thanks, glad I found this forum, I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer. Cheers.
