Default Multi-Layer List, Obejct Shared between two lists

Hola a todos,

I am trying to create a line that will be a part of two lists, I have uploaded my word document that is problematic and an image of what I would like it to look like. Iv'e tried the multi-list option and cannot get a solution that I am happy with.

Regards.

Nothing to do with re-use, but [based on the graphic] the information suggested by the heading 'to remove …' ends with step 4. Steps 5 to 10 belong to a separate task 'Cleaning …'

Hi,

I agree with you, at the minute I am adapting my colleagues work to a company-wide format, after that, I will review suitability of his writing.

Just what does that statement mean? Are you wanting to have two "list numbers" in one line [i.e., 2) a) ....] ??

Yes, so I want list number 2) to contain a) and b). I do not want a) and b) to be a part of a separate list.

As below:

2) a)
b)

I'll carry on sticking my neck out :-}

In procedures we write, a single optional sub-step would be included within the step it depends on:

Code:
2) Uncouple thermocouple union at valve. If electronic ignition, remove flame rod and ignition leads.
With multiple sub-steps, step 2 would be a summary instruction followed by a, b, c. I don't remember ever coming across the 2a … b style you're aiming for.

No thanks to forum platform … the preview showed something more like this, though I've taken the opportunity to extend it.

In my world, that is not proper writing protocol. As a formal writer (now retired) of engineering documents I have always followed writing standards for whomever I worked for. Now, obviously, each company/firm/country et al have their own (modified) standards but, I have NEVER come across what you are looking for. That, to me, does not make sense. And, if you are going to use the styles option within Word, that process you are seeking cannot be obtain...AFAIK.

eNGINe's comments above reflect one such standard writing option.
