Default modifying index styles

The styles for Index 1 or Index 2, etc. have a different font size for the indexed word compared to the page numbers that follow the word. For example:

Alluvium, 2, 3, 7

I want the page numbers to be the same size as the word and not bolded. I would also like to have a colon after the word. It's got enough commas with all the page numbers. Thanks for any help.
