How to restore my Style Header 3?
Hello there,
I have deleted my Style Header 3 by mistake and now my table of contents does not get updated anymore. How can I restore it please? Thank you for your help. Jongleur Last edited by jongleur; 05-16-2017 at 01:01 AM. Reason: Uploading image |

Heading 3, not Header 3
What is the difference between headings and headers? This has nothing to do with your TOC updating or not. You cannot delete the Heading 3 style from a document. Word will not allow you to do that. All that has happened is that it is not appearing in the Quick Styles Gallery. You should be able to apply the Heading 3 style using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+3 regardless of whether it appears in the gallery. What happens instead? |

For any documents likely to be edited much, you need to do this. Just clicking on the numbering buttons on the ribbon is going to cause problems. |
