Custom List and Navigation Pane issues

Hello,

I've created a custom list for appendices. The Appendix B list goes B., B.1, B.1.1, B.1.1.1, etc. I've also linked this list to a style so they appear in the navigation pane. However, the problem is that every level appears in the navigation pane at the same indentation. I've included a screen shot. I would Like B to be leftmost, then B.1, B.2 at the next level, and B.1.1, B.1.2 at the third level. I've tried all settings and can only move them all together. Any help is appreciated.
