Cross reference with pages in word ?

Hello everybody,

i'm currently writing a word doc for a memo, this memo will be readed mainly by using the paper version (not the electronic one), at the moment i have used a lot of cross references, for the tables, figures and pictures.

My problem, at some point i have some cross references not just above or below the text, and i would like to know if it's possible to add a cross reference with a page number, i mean :

See "Figure 19 : Explanation of blabla..." in "page 53"

Were "page 53" will change automaticaly like the "Figure 19 : Explanation of blabla..." cross reference.



Can you give me a tip, because i think i will need to use a kind of "label", but i don't want to destroy everything now (my doc has now 130 pages)

If this tip can be compatible with both office 2016/2013, it would be perfect.

Simply use the normal Insert|Cross-reference tool and choose the page number option.

Hi all,

Finally i found the solution i had used the hyperlink option, to create an hyperlink, because the link i would have, was not a tilte, figure, etc...
So i had to create it before i can refer to it.

There is no need to use a hyperlink for this. Simply bookmark whatever you want to refer to, then insert a page reference to that bookmark, via Insert|Cross Reference. The trouble with using hyperlinks for this is that, if you edit the document such that the page # for the reference changes, the hyperlink will not update its display to reflect the changes; cross-references do.

Yes sorry, i have used the bookmark option, instead of hyperlink, my mistake
