Images moving when new image inserted.
In order to complete my ICT coursework, I have to create a large Word doc of 12 pages of text and pictures. I've completed almost everything but I am struggling to get the pictures to cooperate. Every time I insert a new image or move an existing one, it changes the format and positioning of the entire document. For example, if I insert a new image anywhere in the document, it will move the images of any previous pages onto new pages in the same positioning it was in originally. I have tried resizing the image and using various text wrapping, but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm really stuck, if anyone could help I would be very grateful. P.s. This has to be finished by tomorrow morning. It's an old school PC running Word 2013. (PPS This is my Dad's account) Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 05-09-2017 at 11:43 AM. Reason: Modify title to clarify problem |

Hi
free forums usually don't provide help for homework.

Really? And there was me thinking this was a forum for Word users. I must have missed the bit in the agreement that said "No learners allowed". What a very sad reply you sad little person. Peter

Images are anchored to a particular location. You need to move the anchors.

Merely stating a fact

End of story
No. You're not. If you care to browse any number of free forums on any subject you will see quite clearly that advice is generously given by more experienced users to less experienced, irrespective of the final purpose. I am an expert in another field and regularly - like most on here - try to help those who are learning.
Fortunately a more generous user than you pointed me and my daughter in the right direction to resolve the issue. Attitudes like yours undermine the friendly and helpful environment which the rest of us try to encourage. You really should be ashamed of your response. Peter |

To clarify. The policy is to not help with homework where the class subject is Microsoft Word. Otherwise we volunteers end up doing homework for students who are too lazy to actually do the homework and read the material assigned.
On the other hand, assistance is often given when a problem with Word techniques is causing difficulty getting other work done. I tend to give the person asking a question the benefit of the doubt when I can help. I've many times assisted someone who is having a problem getting homework done because of not knowing about Word, whether that homework is a paper for class or a doctoral dissertation. Here, I don't know how much help my answer is; but, I do not work with images that much. I changed the title of the post to give more information to those who might want to answer. |

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I quite understand that reasoning - sounds sensible, however in this case I thought it was pretty clear. As clearly explained the coursework was all there, but the format for delivery (Word) was giving problems. There was patently no request for anyone to do any coursework/homework. As your helpful answer proved, one line was all the clue needed to help solve the problem - thanks for that. Peter |

And that is the reason for these forums. I'm glad it helped.
