Exporting all "SPECIAL" Image from the word doc
Thanks for your attention
i used a term "special" because the image inside my word is not a normal image jpg, png or gif, etc from internet. the "special" image is created by the following steps. 1) Select a few paragraphs the paragraphs have some indent, figures(jpg) and some text. 2) Copy 3) Paste special , select "Picture (Enhanced Metafile)" Now that "special" image is created one by one (totally ~50 img) I want all the "special" Image export as PNG or GIF files. But how? I search through internet, someone suggest a) renaming docx to zip , find the image inside the zip OR b) save as html, find the image inside the corresponding folder both of the ways either lead me to A) a low resolution PNG OR B) a emz file which cannot be read by photoshop, Xnview. These are the software supposed can read emz file. It stops my thought of thinking convert all emz to png/gif . I tried simply right click the "special" image and use the "save as picture", it works great, it can save it to a proper resolution gif/png But it is not possible to right click all of them one by one, i tried study the vba or using record macro. But it seems not possible to use that "save as picture" in vba. Another dead end reached. Can any experts here give me a hand? |

The image is stored in Word as EMF format - http://www.gmayor.com/extract_images_from_word.htm will extract the images as EMF and the simplest way to convert the resulting files to PNG etc is to use the batch function of SnagIt. SnagIt is not free, but there is a working trial, and frankly it's one of the most useful tools in my toolbox that I could not manage without and I use it every day.
It is worth saying that you could have used SnagIt to capture the text directly to png etc in the first place.

your plugin extracted the image as emf (instead of the emz i got). And the photoshop/Xnview can now read those file and help me batch convert all emf to jpg/png/gif. |
