First Item in a Word numbered list indents
I am having a problem with numbering in Word 2016. I have created styles using a numbering system from the Drop down box (i,ii,iii...). Regularly the first numbered item indents and the first line indent and hanging indent markers move the item. No matter how I try to resolve this issue, by dragging the markers for the first item back into line or by modifying the settings from the style on the ribbon bar using format paragraph (first line indent 1.17 and a hanging indent of 0.63) the item still indents to 2.63 and 0.63. I have tried define new format and that does not resolve the issue. It seems to resolve the issue if the first line indent is greater than 2.0. What am I missing please? Ernie |

To change the indentation for a numbered list, do the following: Click to select the actual list symbol ("i" in this case). Right-click and choose Adjust List Indents; in the dialog box, make the desired changes.
