Table of contents - add the word "page" before page number
Hi,
I would like to set up a table of contents in Word 2010 that has the word "page" followed by a tab before the page number. I have tried using the \p "page" switch in the field code but this only adds the first letter, i.e. the result is "Introduction p2" not "Introduction page 2". If anyone knows of a way to acheive this please let me know! |

I do not. By its documentation, the \p switch should allow up to five characters. I get the same result that you do.

Checked using something other than "page." It still only gives the first character.

Although the switch doesn't work as documented, it wouldn't help in this case even if it did, since you'd need to supply 6 characters - tab, 'page', tab.
For Table of Contents construction, it is quite normal (& far more common) to precede the TOC field with something like: Code:
Item Page
