Default How to change Headings without affecting Page Numbers in Footers

I have a 500 page document with 22 Chapters.

I want:
1) A unique Header for each Chapter.
2) AND, Page Numbering to go from '1' to '500'.

My problem:
I can successfully get a new Header for each Chapter (by using Section Breaks), BUT the Page Numbering starts over at '1' for each Chapter.
-- OR --
I can successfully get Page Numbering from '1' to '500', BUT I cannot get a unique Header for each Chapter.

Question: How can I achieve BOTH a unique Header for each Chapter, AND Page Numbering going from '1' to '500' ?

That depends. Depending on the document, using StyleRef fields or Section breaks might be appropriate. Without actually seeing the document, it can be difficult for anyone to advise on the best course. Can you attach an extract from the document to a post (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

If you simply need to change the header to match the section, use the StyleRef Field without section breaks. If there is another reason for the section breaks (as in using the Different-First-Page setting that is only available with a section break) then you'll have to go to each section and reformat the page numbering to continue from previous section.

Here is a utility that can help you do that.
Continuous Page Numbering Add-In
