'sticky' cursor: cannot delete between 2 spaces using arrow keys, backspace or delete
After deleting/editing the end of a word, I often have two spaces between that and the start of the next word. My cursor 'sticks' inbetween these two spaces, and I cannot move it with the arrow keys of the keyboard, or use delete or backspace to remove one space between words. I have to use the mouse to move the cursor to either side of the two spaces, and then press delete or backspace.
This is not a keyboard issue -- the same behaviour crops up across multiple keyboards, and the laptop's own keyboard. This is very frustrating for an editor who needs to keep their hands on the keyboard most of the time. Can anyone help? |

Display nonprinting marks and see if that gives a clue. Click the ¶ button on the Home tab; each space is represented by a dot. Do you see one space or two between words when pressing the SpaceBar?
