Superscript and subscript numbers both appear as subscripts
Hi
When using the subscript or superscript shortcut keys or menu buttons, both appears as subscripts. The same is true for footnotes (more of an issue in my case): the number referencing the footnote and the number in the footnote itself appears as a subscript, no matter how I format it! Please help. |

There's a bug in one of the latest security updates for the Office 365 edition of Word 2016 (update KB3178647) that's caused this. Uninstalling that update (pending a fix from MS) should resolve the problem.

I have just uninstalled KB3178674, reboot and... live is beautiful again!

For Office 2016 users who have the Click-to-Run version, the issue is fixed for:
• subscribers in Version 1702 (Build 7870.2020) or later; • non-subscribers in build 16.0.7870.2020. To get the update immediately, open any Office 2016 app and choose File > Account >Update Options > Update Now.

Since this was fixed on PCs many months ago, I'd be surprised if a similar fix didn't exist for Macs. Make sure you have all the updates installed.
