Okay, it let me Save As a DOC file and then Save As a DOCX. It's a workaround I guess, but I'd like to get to the kernel of the issue and try solve it.

Also, all pics have turned invisible. I don't know how to make them show up again. They're still there, I just can't see them. Tried closing and opening both the DOC and the DOCX. Coverted to PDF just to see. Still invisible.
