I must be missing something, because I haven't noticed that Restore Down/Maximize behaves any different.



When the window is Restored Down, I find that I can use drag and drop to resize it to the size I want.

I stand corrected (and you are correct Stefan)! On my system, I had the "restore down" window fully extended (or, identical to the Maximize window). I should have looked at that a little closer.

Hopefully, the OP may have another look at his windows as your post prompted me to do and find a resolution.

When you say you had the "restore down" window fully extended (or, identical to the Maximize window), how did you accomplish that?

I corrected the problem by left-clicking at the top of the screen and moved/dragged the page down, then grabbed a corner and reduced the size in half. (I don't recall ever fully extending it in the first place).

I now can see how to do it.

Often, when a window is "too big for its screen" the reason is that you have had some other monitor (with a different resolution) connected to your computer, or you had dual monitors. Dual monitors may cause windows to wander off the screen, completely or partially.
