I am having an issue with the Multilevel List Numbers & Letters not showing up in a Word document when I open the file. The file was created by another person, but everything still shows up for them when they open the file. The text and paragraph structure is still spaced & indented correctly, but the numbers & letters are gone. I've attached the file in question.

I do not have this issue in other files. In all other Word documents I can see the numbering & lettering.

I'm assuming this is a setting I've somehow triggered, but I can't figure out what it is. If anyone has a solution or an idea to try, I'll be very thankful.

I see no numbering in the document you uploaded. Which paragraphs are supposed to be numbered and how was the numbering created?

I seem to remember reading, many years ago, that some of Word's numbering/bullets settings are associated with an array in the user profile – so if a list on your PC points to item 1 in the array, you may not see the same results if you send the file to someone whose profile has different settings. Is this still the case?
I'd be quite relieved to learn it isn't, and then abandon this out-of-date/incorrect misapprehension.

The built-in formats, under Home | Multilevel List (in Word 2007 and later) or under Format | Bullets and Numbering (in Word 2003 and earlier), are user-specific and machine-specific; that is correct. In other words, these formats do not represent available number/bullet formatting in the current document.
