Text Field [content control] - Default text color vs Filled Text color
Hi Folks,
I am making a form in Word 2013 and would like to have the default text in my text fields to be a light grey - but when someone fills in the box, the new text should be black. I have tried changing it in and out of design mode - but every time I change the default text color to grey, the color of the text that gets typed into the field by the user also turns to grey. How can I change the default text color - without also changing the color of the text that gets typed into the field by the end user? Thanks very much, Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 02-01-2017 at 07:59 AM. Reason: Mark as solved and add to title to give more info |

You should change the default text only - not the text colour - in Design mode. Once you switch out of Design mode, the default text will normally show as grey but whatever you input should then adopt the colour of the relevant paragraph Style.

Great - Thanks for your help, Paul!
I did also notice that when in design mode, I can select one of the "handles" on the side of the text field and modify the color of the default text without effecting the entered text. Have a great day! |
