I got 2 lists and I want to find out what's missing from the first by comparing a second.

You can use the Compare Versions tool under the Review tab. It will compare two versions of a document and tell you what the differences are. If other parts of the document are different, you can copy the lists into two temporary files and compare those. Make sure there are no tracked changes in the temp files; that will mess up the comparison.

So I made 2 word files. However, when I compare one to the other, it says all of the original items were deleted and mentions nothing of what was added that was new. On top of that, the alleged items that were purported to have been deleted were in fact not deleted.
For example, nu-gaze is in the original but not the final. How do I determine what is missing in the final that was not in the original? Nu-gaze may be the only one but I don't know how to tell.
Is there a better Office program for this?

This appears to show the two files combined, because so many items are repeated. Also, everything is marked as an insertion; I don't see any deletions.

Sure does. That's why I'm looking for an alternative to the Review feature since that does not work. What I was trying to do is figure out what is in this list: https://www.scribd.com/document/3376...Super-So-Nik-2
that is not in this list:

Maybe this is something that can be accomplished in Word, but have you considering leveraging the power of say Excel to help you out?

If this is an option for you, you might find some help here
