Limiting line length for first few lines
Hy. I'm no word Guru so I came here looking for help. I'm trying to make a template for our organization using a header that is not oriented horizontally but vertically. For that to work I would need to limit the first couple of lines of text to be shorter on the first page so it would wrap around the header. How would I go about doing that? I know it can be done (I've seen it done before) but after spending more than one hour on google searching for the answer I gave up. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 01-18-2017 at 07:16 AM. First, choose a 'different first page' layout for your document. Then insert your logo etc. into a textbox in the page header and apply a 'square' or 'tight' wrap format to the textbox, which you then drag to the required position.
The body text will then wrap around the logo, which will only appear on the first page.

If you put the textbox into the header as I suggested, then the logo etc. that you put into the textbox will likewise be in the header. Regardless, putting something into a page header is little protection against its deletion.

I agree with everything that Paul has told you.
You can have the textbox/graphic in the first-page header with a setting to wrap text. Text in the body will wrap around it. See Setting Up Letter Templates - Ribbon, Letterhead Textboxes and Styles Tutorial |

Ok... I've tried that but after applying all as you said and trying out the document the text doesn't wrap around it but jumps to the line below instead when it reaches the border of the image.
EDIT: Nevermind. The tight wrap does not work. But the square wrap does. Thank you |
