Hey guys,
I've experienced a pretty strange issue here. I'm working towards building a table of content, with slight shading for level 1 headings, however just can't find any solution to this. I have a document in hand with such shading, and when comparing this document with a clean template, the only difference is in the "modify" section, it shows as "pattern- clear" with a RGB info. But I just can't edit the standard template for it to inlcude such a shading. Can anyone please help? Thanks Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 12-11-2016 at 09:33 PM. Reason: Mark as solved |

Tables of contents that have more than one level are formatted with TOC n styles (where 'n') is the level. Thus if you create a table of contents that includes only Level 1 and Level 2 then Level 1 will be style TOC 1.
{ TOC \f \h \z \t "Heading 1,1,Heading 2,2" } If you include a Title style { TOC \f \h \z \t "Title,1,Heading 1,2,Heading 2,3" } Then Heading 1 will be level 2 and the style TOC 2 You can modify the Style in question > Format > Border > Shading to include the shading you require. ![]()

You need to modify the style TOC 1 to include the shading. Here is one with a light gray shading applied through the TOC 1 style.
00 deleteme 1.png This does not require any change to the TOC field. The above is with a field that is the standard field generated by the TOC button. 00 deleteme 2.png TOC 1 is associated with level 1; TOC 2 is associated with level 2, etc.. Graham's post gives directions for modifying the style. For more, see TOC Tips and Tricks. Edit: I have marked this as solved. If I am wrong or you need more help, please write back.
