Using word for iphone

Today I tried to resize a table on word for iphone but it only lets me insert rows not physically alter the dimensions, when looking at the features also i noticed how few functions there were can someone please explain these points to me

Word on a computer interface is much more fully featured than is Word on a mobile device. (For this purpose, a laptop is a computer, an iPad is a mobile device.) For me, mobile devices can be adequate for reading but not editing.
