How to determine an image's linked/inserted status?
Is there a simple way to tell whether an image in a Word document is linked or/and inserted, and if it's linked, what the link is?
The Info page's "Edit Links to Files" gives information about linked images, but it's very poorly designed for this purpose. There's no apparent way to identify the image(s) that a given link represents, except to look up the image at the link target, then look for a matching image in the file. The reverse operation -- going from image to link -- is equally hard. |
