I have an important .doc file which got corrupted. I recieve the following error message:*Error opening Word. Please help me to recover my hours of work.
I tried googling and I can't seem to find an answer. Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. How to repair .doc file?

Any other information or advice?

If this document was on a USB drive, the problem is most likely due to the USB drive being removed without going through the safe removal process. It is rare that a document corrupted by this can be recovered. You would need to restore it from your last known good backup.

Thanks for information. This document wasn't on a USB drive.

In that case, what additional information does Word give if you click on the 'Details' for the error message?
