Headers on a multipage document
Hi
Due to a restrictive workplace we have to use a 5 page word document to generate official documentation for clients. A client could only require 1 or a combination of any or all 5 of the pages. The issue is that all 5 pages have the company header on but if the required information pushes any single page onto the next we need the pages below to move down and the header to NOT appear on the additional page. This problem could occur on all 5 pages so the worst case scenario is: Page 1 Header Page 2 additional page for page 1 No Header Page 3 Header Page 4 additional page for page 1 No Header Page 5 Header Page 6 additional page for page 1 No Header Page 7 Header Page 8 additional page for page 1 No Header Page 9 Header Page 10 additional page for page 1 No Header I have used the next break and deselect 'link to previous' option but this doesn't seem to work for one that one page. I work with very technology illiterate people so the simplest solution would be appreciated. Feel free to clarify if I have rambled complete nonsense. Thanks Anthony |

Simply confifure your document with Section breaks between the headers and all Sections with a 'different first page' setup.

To clarify Pauls anseer, add a next page section break at the end of each of the five pages.
Configure each section to have a different first page header. Check that there are no links between headers/sections and copy the header information into the first page header of each section. The header will then only appear on the five pages and provided the users don't add any more section breaks they need not have to know anything about how it works.

Graham: Since it's the same company header throughout, there is no need to unlink the Sections or have a separate header for each. Provided each Section has the 'different first page' setup and the company header is added to the first page in the first Section, the rest should look after itself.
