Numbering Style in word
Hello, and thanks in advance for the assitance
I wish to change the numbering style..... but not to one of the preset styles. I mean I want to create a numbered list which goes: 10, 20, 30, ...... when I try to set it manually and delete a line. for example: I start with: 10 20 30 40 and I delete the line with the 30, the line with the 40 instead of changing to 30 is changing to 39 (because the numbering style is 1,2,3,...) is there a way change that and retain a list which jumps 10 numbers each time ??? You can do that by modifying your styles formatting of the text in question.
Right-click on the style and select Modify to get the "Modify Style" menu; Click on Format (lower left-hand corner) and select Numbering to get the "Numbering and Bullets" menu; Select "Define new number format" to get the "Define new number form"; Under "Number Format" insert a "0" behind the existing "1" so that it reads 10.; Select OK. It should be set to your liking. However, if you are not already aware of the styles and numbering within Word, I strongly suggest you take the time to review the following links and become real familiar for future reference.
