Default organization chart

Hi,

does anyone know how to make an organization chart in windows 2016 from the chart in this link: http://corporate.nh-hotels.com/uploa...k_COMPLETE.pdf

They put the general secretary and svp's internal audit and legal affairs in horizontal fashion and the rest of the chart is done vertically but in word as far as I know you can only do either horizontally or vertically?

In that chart they put a dashed square around the 3 Executive Managing Directors and connected that to 2 other managers, how do you do that in word?

All the managing directors and senior vice presidents at the bottom left are underneath a line instead of underneath a square with a higher ranking person, how would you do this in word?

The chart is also very big and contains a lot of people so I don't know if it is possible to even fit everyone into 1 organization chart in word?

Thanks so much in advance!

That org chart most likely manually assembled in Powerpoint and didn't use the automation of smart art. Automated org chart tools have an exclusively hierarchical flow that don't allow the embellishments shown in that sample.

That is not to say you can't create an org chart that looks the same in Word - but you do need to manually draw it using lots of shapes in the drawing palette. Start by going to Insert > Shapes > New Drawing Canvas and then keep adding content from the Insert > Shapes choices. Make use of the elbow connectors for lines and let them snap to the edges of your boxes. It is going to be a slow process until you understand how it is done but it can be built pretty quickly once you get the hang of it.
