Default Heading 3 formatting

Heading 3 requires the the text for the heading to be bold, indented and a period behind the last word. How do I use Heading 3 and have the wording that follows not be bold, not be a part of the heading, and have only the bold terms in the table of contents?

You need a "Style Separator". You can find out a bit about this feature here https://office-watch.com/2016/select...e-of-contents/
