How to change the default features for AutoShape horizontal line (button 'Insert horizontal line')
Hi
Is there any way to change the horizontal line default features for the button '(Insert) Horizontal Line'? A screenshot attached. Thanks Tomasz Last edited by 534tomasz; 10-01-2016 at 12:25 AM. Reason: spelling, button screenshot |

As far as I know, you can't change the defaults.
However, you can insert an example line, format it the way you want to, select it and create an AutoText entry (Building Block). Each time you want that particular kind of formatting, insert the AutoText entry.

The default line settings can be modified by the Theme setting so it must be able to be done. If you only want to change the line colour then you could modify the colour palette but if you want to change the line thickness you will need to fiddle with the theme (which hasn't been a happy hunting ground for me).

Perhaps it can be done in a theme, but I have no idea how. Using a Building Block/AutoText entry is a lot easier.

Late, but sincere, thank you. :)
Thank you, Stefan Blom and Guessed.
I have finally got round to trying your suggestions. The Building Blocks solution is nice and easy. As for the Themes possibility, I would have to get acquainted with making changes there. Have never done that. Thanks again and... one more question: Is it possible to use a Building Block with a keyaboard shortcut, or an icon? Cheers Tomasz PS I know I can use Left Alt + V + B and select a BB. |

Building blocks still have the same functionality as the old Autotext entries had. If you name the building block with a name that wouldn't normally get typed eg myline then you can type that name and either press Enter or F3 to get it inserted into the document.

Hi, Guessed,
Works like a charm. Using a bit of Autotext is coming! Thanks a lot. Take care |
