Default Writing multiple documents of a certain style.

Hi

At work we type a lot of letters to email around. We have to follow an exacting standard for the document.

Here is an example of the layout. The issue we are having, is laying out the document like they want.

So, we make a new document, write a title, new line, add bullet point for 1. and hit enter. It indents the bullet point, so we have to fiddle with the settings to put it right.
Then we make a new line (which automatically makes 2. which we don't need). We have to change this bullet point to a) and indent it just right, then type the text and so forth

By the time we are done we have had enough of fiddling with all the settings and bullet styles. The problem is, when we make a new one we do the same process over and over.

Is there a way of speeding up this or making an template (which needs to not end up looking like one when we submit it) which can help us speed up the process?

Yes, if you become familiar with, and follow directions of:
Understanding styles | ShaunaKelly.com and/or
Understanding Styles in Microsoft Word, and
Numbered Headings

The are many other useful links but...these three will get you started.

One other thing is to turn off most of the "AutoFormat as you type" options. This is what mine looks like:

See also Templates in Microsoft Word. A template can be a blank that already has the Styles you need; it can be a letterhead ready to go; it can contain all sorts of boilerplate that you can call in at will (called AutoText).
