Restrict Formatting Issue

There isn't any section breaks. When I open a new blank document and type in a couple of words, copy them and then paste them into my restricted formatting document then the margins get changed to what the copies document is.

That can only happen if whatever you're pasting contains Section breaks. The simple solution is to avoid doing so. Failing that, deleting the unwanted Section breaks post-paste should restore the page layout.
