How to set up a variable
Hi. My first post so please go easy on me. I'm usually a FrameMaker user (don't throw tomatoes at me) and in FM I can set up a 'variable' for my needs. My need is for software release notes. I want to set up a field/variable (?) for the release # (ex: Release 7.2.3) so that I can set it once somewhere and it'll populate all areas with the field/variable with the 7.2.3. Right now, the document is populated with many 7.2.2 and I don't want to have to use Search & Replace for this... OR... is that what I'll have to do? Thanks everyone... |

Look into the use of document property content controls as explained in Repeating Data (Populating Multiple Like Fields). If all of your users will be on Word 2007 or later, that is likely your simplest method.
