unexpected Roman numbering in ToC
A colleague has sent me a document where the page numbering in all the footers is in Arab numerals but the ToC is showing page numbers in Roman numerals. What do we have to do to get the expected Arabic numerals in the ToC? The field is currently set to {TOC \o "1-3" \h \z \u} Thanks in advance! |

Have you tried deleting the existing ToC and creating a new one?

The TOC shows the page numbering formatted as per the section page numbering format. The pagenumber field can override this formatting if the field includes a formatting switch.
To resolve the issue in your TOC, go to the relevant section and choose Insert > Page Number > Format Page Numbers... Then you can refresh the TOC to check out if it worked.

exactly right! the section page numbering was set to lower-case Roman while the footers showed Arabic. Thanks for the tip.
