Default Problem saving as PDF

Hello everyone!

I can't understand why but when I save the document in PDF the font size is too small in the PDF. In the image you can see the problem.
Can anyone help me please? Thanks.

This doesn't happen with my Office 2019 so it may be a bug with Office 2021. This is just a guess. If it is not a bug then maybe some expert will help you.

It appears to be an issue with the typeface (font or tipo di letra). Can you look at the Save options to ensure that the typeface is being saved in the PDF?

I would also try changing the font to something else to see if you get the same result.

Can you attach a sample document (not screenshot) with the problem?

I had already made savings of the same PDF document in other phases of the project but this had never happened.

I used your sample.docx file and 'saved as' sample.pdf and the problem did not happen using my Offfice 2019. See the attached pdf. I know I've said it already but it may be an Office 2021 bug.

Does not happen here with Office 2021, either.

To be precise, I tried using SaveAs and picking the File type as pdf in Word. I did not "export" nor did I use Adobe Acrobat's add-in.

Did you try Andrew's suggestion to change the font?

Would you care to share the pdf result as well?

I tried saving it a bunch of ways but I don't see the significantly smaller text. I also don't see the "NewsGOT" font in the properties of the resulting PDF. So it may be bitmapping it.

I do notice in your screen image, the phrase "et al" is the larger size. I am looking at that page again and it looks like you may have put CO2 in, with the subscript 2, as an equation rather than manually subscripted 2 or using the ALT+8322 ASCII character for the subscript 2. You might try saving a copy and changing those and any other instances of CO2 to just a C, O, and the ALT+8322 character, and see if that makes the issue go away. Or temporarily remove that whole paragraph, and PDF and see what happens.

I had a weird issue a while back with ArialMT showing up in a PDF of a report, when that font was not used at all in the text of it. I ended up breaking the document into sections and pages, and eventually figured out it only showed up on the pages where there happened to be a bullet point. So, deleting the bullets and replacing them manually with an ASCII character and a manual indent was the only way to keep the document from having the font, which the end client objected to.

Ann
