How can I export specific data fields from a job application form created in MS Word to a MS Excel spreadsheet please this will save me weeks as I am currently manually transferring all the data from hundreds of files

I assume that as you mentioned that you wanted to "export specific data fields from a job application form" that the documents are in a format that allows the data that is to be exported to be identified. Exactly what do you mean by "data fields"? Are they one of the various types of controls that can be added to a Word document?

The job application has been created using a simple word document with no drop downs or any identifiers for each section that needs completing example the applicants name is just first name with a box and surname with a box. Can I transform this document to capture these fields into an Excel spreadsheet or will I need to recreate the job application form using gvthe techniques highlighted in your first response
