Unhappy My file dates are wrong, can I use the date inside Word?

Hi, I've copied a very large number of Word files from my wifes old computer to the new on. Now I see that all the files dates have changed to the time when I copied them. This makes my wifes system for finding the file to at total mess and she is not amused.

I have tried some utilities but they will only change the date to another selected by me, they can't find the original date.

But the original dates are inside the files, I can see them when I choose Properties in Windows File Explorer (it's called Pathfinder in my language.

Is there any way to convert the file dates to the date in Properties?

I hope so, that would be much better for my marriage.

(Unfortunately the old computer has been shipped of.)

In the Windows Explorer change to the Details view and then from the View menu, select "Choose details ..." and then from the list of details, select Date created. That will add a Date created column to the displayed details and you can drag that to the left so that it becomes the first column of dates.

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately all the usual columns for dates - created, modified and accessed - are the samte.

However your advice made me look further, and I found a column - called something like "content created" - with the right date.

This can be used, but I would very much like to have correct dates in the other fields as well. Is there any way to copy this date - "content created" - to the "Date Created" field?
