Default How to change page positions in long document

In a large document created with Word 2016, how can pages be rearranged? It would be good to do this in the Navigation screen where layout sequencing is quite clear.

A forum search suggests rearrangement is possible in earlier Word versions, by right clicking on the page title to open a 'move' option. However, can't see page titles in my document.
Guidance would be appreciated.

I do not have Word 2016. Word has never been able to move "pages" as such. I do not know that they added such a capability.

If you start each page with a heading formatted as say Heading 1, in the Navigation pane, you can move them. If your heading 1 style is set for Page-break-before it allows you to rearrange logical sections.

Powerpoint lets you rearrange slides, but Word is not PP.

If an interactive outline is created under Headings in the Navigation pane a series of bullets highlight the text lines of the document. Supposedly, these could be copied and pasted at will, but complete pages could not be treated so.
Images, there are many in my document, do not appear in the interactive outline.
A web search suggests a simple cut and paste of the whole page would work. Am planning to expose this avenue.

Default Rearrange pages

You could save as Adobe pdf and use the page icon to move pages. Then Export as Word.

Just a suggestion. If you have a well formatted document it should work quite well.

Jen

Dragging to select the whole page to be moved, then cut and paste to the required location works well.
Thanks for all your responses.

This will destroy the internal structure of the document. Any conversion from one program to another messes up structure. This is true even if it is Word doing the conversion both ways.
