Default How do I edit my style?

I created a new 'style' while in the process of creating a template. I made it while in the "Contents Control Property" of Developer.

Now I want to edit it, but my new style does not appear in the Style gallery. Can someone tell me how to find it please? All I want to do is tell it to always stay bold.

Thanks

Why not use Word's built-in 'Strong' Style? The work is already done for you.

I looked at 'Strong' but I also wanted a different font and a different size.

Well that's not what you said in your first post:

Did you click on Styles>Options and adjust the display settings (e.g. to 'All Styles', Alpha-sorted) to see whether your Style exists?

When I click 'Home' there are a bunch of styles on the bar, but I cannot find my style there, or any options.

Click on the little arrow in the lower right corner of the Styles pane.

Thanks,

I found my new style, added it to the quick style list, and checked it.
Times New Roman, Size 12, Bold.
I selected "New documents based on this template" (but it reverts back to "only in this document") Then I re-saved the template.

Im using it in a place holder.

Anyway, I opened a document from my template and gave it a whirl. One of the place holders was bold and one was not bold. Strange? I'll try deleting it and doing it again.

Nope. One of the place holders was bold and one was not bold. I used the same style for both of them.

You probably also have some direct formatting for one of them. Use Word's Reveal Formatting Tools.
