Default Put a landscape table in a portrait page and have footer on short edge

Hi

I'm hoping someone can help me with a bit of a tricky problem.

I have created a template for long documents that has odd and even footers for one of my clients. The footers contain a graphic, the name of the document (a field) and a page number.

My problem is that my clients need to occasionally be able to insert a landscape table. I can easily add in section breaks and make the page landscape BUT then my footer will be on the right side (long edge) of the page, which will look silly when I print the document and bind it.

I can group together and copy the graphic/name/page number, rotate it 90 degrees and then position it on the left side of the page, so that when the document prints, the footer is in the correct position. But then I lose the whole footer when I try to make the page numbers continue from the previous section. Even if I can resolve that issue, I think this is going to be too difficult for my clients to do, especially as they would then have to set up an even version of the footer as well for multi-paged tables. I would love to be able to set up the template so that my clients can easily add landscape pages if and when they need them without much effort.

Is there an easier way? For example, I was thinking about inserting the table into a portrait page and then changing the text direction in the table, so that they don't have to touch the footers at all. However, then it's a pain trying to apply formatting as everything is switched around. Also, I now have Windows 10 so I can't just quickly press Ctrl+Alt+left arrow to rotate the screen.

If there isn't an easier way, that's fine. I just thought I'd ask in case I'm missing something simple!

Thanks

You could just rotate the table... See: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...html#post54386
