Heading +1 problem
I've removed all formatting and tabs from a doc. But when I try to make Chapter -1 a Heading 1, it says, Article 1; Heading+1, and won't allow in any way I can find to make that just Heading 1.
How do I restore the Heading 1 to just Heading 1, no Article. Ray |

That's because whoever configured the multilevel list numbering attached to heading 1 in your document did so with the 'Article ' prefix. You can edit the multilevel list numbering to remove the prefix.

I've cut and pasted the doc into a new doc and Article went away.
Thanks |

That worked because the Multilevel list definition in the destination document didn't have the 'Article' prefix. It's important, though, that you understand why it was there and how to deal with it, rather than taking a brute-force approach that could also mess with other formatting in your document.

Home>Paragraph>Multi-level List>Define New Multi-level List.
