Question What is this block of text?

I have a block of text in a file I am editing and I'm not sure what the block is and I'm not sure how to use it. I can edit the text inside the block, but I can't seem to move it around. It doesn't appear to be a regular text box. What is it?

What you are seeing is a content control.

Are you using one of Word's built-in templates? Which one, in that case?

Stefan, I believe it originated from a built-in Word template for a resume. I did a quick "new document from template" and this appears to be the case.

Thanks for the follow-up.

You should be able to set the properties for the content control if you first click in it, then go to the Developer tab and click the Properties button (in the Controls group).
