Smile interlacing word documents

My need is to interlace page by page two word documents written in two different languages : Original + translation.

I would like to know if there is a genious and easy option in order to oppose them page by page, in a new common document, but by maintaining respectively their own headers, footers and notes in the bottom of pages.
Many thanks for any suggestion.

Not without great difficulty. Every page would require a 'Next Page' Section break, with headers/footers unlinked from the previous Section, so that each page could have its own header footer, and so on. Even then, you'd have problems with footnotes unless you re-start their numbering on each page.

Default interlacing documents

Thanks you for your fast reply.
This is really a long way to do that page by page while we have to ensure a false continuity between pages of the same document.......
The need of merging/interlacing documents is more and more usual and it seems that there is nothing to expect from microsoft ( New document model, advanced operations on document, etc).

The reason Word doesn't provide such a tool is simple: there is very little demand for it, so I don't see any reason to expect it - now or in any future release. FWIW, in 15 years of providing user support, yours is the first post I know of seeking this. If you think Microsoft should provide such a feature, you can suggest it at: http://word.uservoice.com/

Elsewhere, it's handled by "flows"; but I've only needed to use this option once in thirty years or so.
