When loading existing documents (*.docx) they load with Security Warning - Macros have been disabled
I run Word 2010 under Windows 7. Some of my existing Word 2010 documents (*.docx) load with a yellow stripe across the top with the text [!] Security Warning - Macros have been disabled. I'm sure these documents have no embedded macros, so I'm a bit confused with what's happening. What is the reason for this and how can I get rid of this warning? |

Word 2010 documents with the .docx extension cannot contain macros - only macro-enabled documents with the docm format or documents in the older .doc format can contain macros.
Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Start > Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?

Thanks for your reply. I haven't try to repair Office installation. It seems that I managed to resolve the problem simply just by deleting the normal.dotm and launching Word again.

That suggests your Normal.dotm file had one or more macros and that you'd changed your Trust Centre settings in a way that prevented its macros from running.
